Hello all! I thought it might be overdue that I share you some of the costuming goodness.
Things are seemingly never-ending with things to do etc but I managed to squeeze in some sewing along the way. Here is where my Daenerys Qarth dress is currently at:
The mock up is made from taffeta, because I happened to have 6 meters lying around since 2009. Coincidentally, that is the same number of meters I purchased the actual fabric in.
The cape attaches into the skirt of the dress, just below the belt. I learnt (and still am learning!) how to do a rolled hem. It is so gratifying!
Here is a picture of the beads I have purchased that hang from her belt:
I couldn't find anything to exact, but I'm really digging the look of some of those beads! I think it captures the essence of what they would be.
And finally, this is the wig I have purchased for Daenerys:
It is a lace front wig, something that I have never used before. So that should be interesting! It was purchased from Arda Wigs, who I purchased several from and I love the look and feel of them. I am planning on braiding the wig and subjecting it to boiling water to help set a crimped look. I hope it works, as it is not something I have tried before...
So there you have some more up-to-date details about the costume, I don't have much longer so I will need to get a wriggle on ;)
Hello! I am thinking about making this dress for ComicCon this year and I cant figure out how to do the back. Do you have a reference you used or could you post a picture of the back of the dress you made?! Thank you so much!
