Anthro Knock-Off Bali Style

So previously on She Said Whaaat?! I've mentioned that my Mum went to Bali. She and I love to go together, but unfortunately I'd recently started a new job and there was no way I could join her.

What I love about visiting the friendly island is the amazing value and craftsmanship that is available.

So whenever we (or she!) travel across, I always get an item or two made. This time this blouse was one of them! It is a copy of the Anthropologie Blue Book Blouse which I stalked on eBay for a short while. It took me a while, but I finally got one! The trouble was though it was slightly too big. Luckily though, we requested this one be made a size smaller and it fits sooo much better!

I love it, especially the crisp-ness of the front ruffles. It got quite a few compliments too, yay! The fabric was a bit heavy, but that was probably because I'd initially chosen the fabric for a skirt. As long as it's not too hot, I'll be just fine ;)

The key around my neck is also a purchase from eBay, a solid silver copy of a skeleton key. The style is kissing dolphins, which is very swell to me!

I totally recommend my friends at the Bali Dynasty, let me know if you ever head that way and want a quality tailor! ;)

Kirks Folly Fantatic

Have you heard of Kirks Folly before? If you love jewellery that will enchant you, look no further than their amazing brooches, earrings and cuff bracelets. Their specialty is fairies and charms; and there is so much wonder and whimsy in each piece, and it is quite difficult to pick a favourite.

The above brooch is my latest purchase from eBay, and believe me when I say it was love at first sight. Cliched, yes... But absolutely true! I still have my watchful eye on a few other pieces, time will tell if I make them my own!

So I implore you to visit the site of Kirks Folly. I promise there will be no regrets if you do. They have some seriously fabulous pieces, but I love eBay for the vintage ones that are no longer in stock. Such as below, the pegasus brooch I scored last year... It is a joy to wear and always gets compliments when worn.

Seasonal pieces seriously make me smile. Halloween is my favourite! But of course they have Christmas, and I'm not American but I can appreciate the cute Thanksgiving pieces!

This community service announcement has hopefully inspired you to browse their amazing pieces. I promise you it will not be impossible to find something you love!

Rainbow Shoes!

I fell in love with these shoes when I discovered them via Color Me Katie:

How amazing and cute, right?! So imagine my dismay when I realised they were sold-out...

The only thing I'm not so excited about is the low heel, but I am currently having a pair custom-made for me with a 2.4" heel!

My mother is currently in Bali (yes I'm jealous!) and she is getting them made from the tailor we always go to over there. There is also a skirt, belt and a blouse that I am having made. As I'm not there for fittings, I sacrificed part of my wardrobe (temporarily!) to get the sizings right. So let's hope all goes well!
